HHC’s third Saturday work day on January 18th will be back at Eagle’s Crest Nature Preserve on the west side of Eagle Creek Lake. We’ll continue working our way clockwise around the loop, picking up where we left off last month near the bottom of the ravine, past the Wine and Cheese overlook.
We’ll meet at 9:00 am at the parking area near the Eagle’s Crest cabin. As usual we’ll work until about 3:00 pm, rain or shine (see below), with a break for lunch at noon. Bring gloves and water. HHC will provide tools and lunch.
It would be helpful if you can R.S.V.P., even if to state your plans are uncertain. Not sure if you’ll make it until the last minute? We’ll be happy to have you join us anyway!

If the weather looks iffy, check the Recent Posts column on the HHC website and visit the HHC Facebook page for potential cancellation notices. We’ll post these notices by 7:00 am on the day of the event.
One more note: Tuesday January 28th is Conservation Day at the Indiana Statehouse. Everyone is invited to attend this free event that begins at 11 am and ends at 1 pm. Many Indiana conservation organizations will be represented here, and guest speakers will talk about Clean Water Indiana, Indiana Heritage Trust, and the Bicentennial Nature Trust. There will also be opportunities to meet your state representatives and learn about conservation in Indiana. For more information and to RSVP, see The Nature Conservancy web page for the event.
