Hello. I live close to this trail, and appreciate your work on it. I have a question you may be able to help with given the amount of time you’ve spent on site. Someone has been painting horribly unsightly blazes on trees, the trails etc. I have checked with the park office and they assure me they have not authorized this, and would like to find out who the culprit is. In your time there, did you run across anyone there? I have gathered some info and am curious if others have also seen anything. I can’t imagine who would feel compelled to do this on such short, easily navigated trails. They’re orange, bright green, blue, it’s looks ridiculous. They’re also hanging ribbons everywhere, also very unsightly. Thanks again.
We also saw some bright green blazes while we were working on the trail, but we never saw anyone making them. The park personnel are the only ones authorized to mark the trails, and they have been using Carsonite posts. They were very disappointed to see their property defaced, and they have been working to remove the paint. Thanks for your concern and for notifying the park administrators.
