HHC’s next third Saturday work day on April 19th will be back at Eagle’s Crest Nature Preserve on the west side of Eagle Creek Lake. We’ll continue working our way clockwise around the loop, picking up where we left off in March. We will certainly complete the loop on this work day, but we will also need to close a couple gaps and do some finishing work on the rest of the trail. There will be plenty to do!
We’ll meet at 9:00 am at the parking area near the Eagle’s Crest cabin. As usual we’ll work until about 3:00 pm, rain or shine (see below), with a break for lunch at noon. Bring gloves and water. HHC will provide tools and lunch. It would be helpful if you can R.S.V.P., even if to state your plans are uncertain. Not sure if you’ll make it until the last minute? We’ll be happy to have you join us anyway!
Here’s a link to a Google map of the Eagle’s Crest parking lot where we’ll meet on Saturday:
If the weather looks iffy, check the Recent Posts column on the HHC website and visit the HHC Facebook page for potential cancellation notices. We’ll post these notices by 7:00 am on the day of the event.
Hello! My daughter & I would like to join you for the trail work on Saturday, April 19th. Do we need to be members or can we just show up?
Lisa Barnard
Hello! You and your daughter are more than welcome to join us, any time, for any part of the day! No membership is needed! You will only need to bring work gloves, water, and perhaps a snack if desired. HHC will provide tools, training, and lunch. If you send your email address to hoosierhikerscouncil@gmail.com, we can add your email to our work day mailing list which provides more specific information on the work we will be doing each month. You can request to be removed from the list at any time, and we keep all emails private. We look forward to seeing you there!
