An important part of HHC’s mission is to promote the use of the very trails we build and maintain. One way we do that is to host run/walk events where we mark trail courses of different lengths through the woods and provide aid stations along the way. These events are a great excuse to set fitness goals, and enjoy the company of others while getting outdoors running or hiking the trails of Indiana.
We host two mini-marathon trail runs in Morgan-Monroe State Forest each year. The “Run with the Foxes” is held in the spring and the “Knobstone Mini” in the fall. Both of these events offer four different courses varying in length from 5 K to 13 miles, all over hilly, wooded terrain typical in southern Indiana. These races are also popular with walkers. If trail runs/walks are not your thing, but you’d like to still be involved in these races, consider signing up as a volunteer to provide aid station supplies for the runners! Email us or see our Volunteer page for more information on volunteering for an HHC race!
